    Unskilled sailors?
Let me tell you something dear…The navy codewas born in Greece..Have you read the hostory of Greece in the ancient times?
During the Ottoman Empire, many islands with agreement(firman)had many privileges because of their skills in navy, since the turks were not at those times a navy country..They also say it, because it is a true..
Greece is a country surrounded by the sea, and the best armateurs ship owners come from here..
It is mountainous in the continental part oif it, and the mentalities between continental Greece, and the islands are different, since the islands were more opened to the exterior world because of their sea activities..
Yes, the part c of your question may be true..But we also have the Ionian sea which had another culture, more influenced by the venetians and the genovese…

Open up a map and figure it out for yourself. Also, it wouldn’t hurt to read up on your history a bit, or, if you’re unable to read, just simply watch a movie or something.
