I am going on a trip to greece in a few days and my mother is telling me to send postcards to friends and family. She is telling me to send the postcards as soon as i get there or they will arrive after i get back. I wanted to know how long on average it takes to arrive.

‘Fraid this may be one of those times when Mom is right … I frequently travel back and forth between Greece and Southern California. While times vary, postcards seem to usually travel more slowly than regular mail and can take 10 days to two weeks to arrive.

By the way, many places that sell postcards will also sell you the stamps as well.

Have a terrific time in Greece!

Your best bet is to buy the post-cards, write them and take them back yourself. Then you will be sure they will get there at least simultaneously with you.
Greek post office in notorious for its delays. Especially during summer time.
Usually they should take week to 10 days but don’t bet your money on it. I wouldn’t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
