That would be my dream too…

A big white house, on 3 levels, with a few terraces like “stairs” on the roof, and a patio in the center of the property, with a little garden and a fountain.
    And near by the sea…

A house for having a rest forever till the end of my life…

The building plot alone could anything from $50,000 to $500,000 but, once you have the land, a relatively simple build could cost between $100,000 to $140,000.

Of course, if you have a difficult plot, such as on a sloping site, you may have to double that if you need to have retaining walls built!

Have you thought about buying an older propety and renovating it into the style you want?

How much would it cost? Not much when compared to what you’d pay to do something similar in the States. Why not just buy an existing home? Anyway, of course if you’re looking at this as an investment property (as you state in your question), I can guarantee you that the home would be booked out solid during the summer season for sure, and most likely year-round. Whatever costs you’d incur would probably be made back within a couple of years. You can gouge foreigners looking for places on the islands; everybody else does it already.

If you need a property manager/superintendant, just let me know! ;-)

Please be very very careful don’t start something like that unless you have someone you can really trust and depend.
They will take advantage of you and your American dollars.
Best thing is to get something ready ,you see it you buy it no hassle and aggravation,Greeks are not the easiest people to do business with, they think we are naive Americanakia with Lot’s of dollars.Personal experience talking.
If for a Greek it is going to cost 100.000 for you because you are special 150.000 Think about it. The Taste of Greece

Santorini is really very expensive. For two 200.000 US all you can buy is like one room (on the cliff) and it will be a VERY good buy. You could contact a real estate agent and get professional info :

Litsa has a point but it has nothing to do with ethnicity or Americanakia! She is thinking of something like the Money Pit I guess but it happens everywhere & to everyone. Building or buying a house is not something you do when you don’t have a clue.

    Take care!
