Lucky you! I assume you are a UK student. Like most capitals Athens is more expensive than the rest of Greece and the exchange rate is not too good. It will still be cheaper than here. Recon on about 80% of what a month would cost you here.

Depends on where you will stay… but (a rough estimate) with an amount around 1000 Euros you will probably be more than fine.
…unless of course you decide to explore wild night life (bouzoukia for example) where this amount is barely enough for one night!

Oh yes, I think 1000 euros are just fine (as long as you aren’t paying for a hotel room, of course). Most students in Athens make it with about 800 euros every month (300-400 for flat rent and 100 for electricity-phone bills) IF they don’t go shopping like crazy of course!! haha!
If you take 1000 euros you will be comfortable enough to also go out some nights, visit some museums, etc.
